Fishing will yield unique species of fish ranging from common to legendary rarity, as well as a random weight. The species, weight, and quality of the fish (being silver, gold, or amethyst) will determine how much Valor the fish is worth when sold to the Cook in the Tavern. You can customize which variety of fish you're more likely to catch by using different Rods and Bait. Seadog will sell the player many of these items in exchange for Valor in the Tackle Shop, however he is unable to sell the top tier bait and rods, these items will have to be found in the world. Sometimes when you catch a fish, the weight or quality may be unknown to you, You can either show this fish to the Fisherman for an appraisal or, sell the fish on the Auction for whatever price you decide, and the buyer will test their luck with the Fisherman and hope the fish is worth more than what they paid you for it. The Cook will buy any and all fish at a fair price but, you may be on the lookout for player collectors willing to buy your rarer fish for a higher price. The Compendium, found in the Tackle Shop, lists every fish you’ve caught in your career. The list will give a detailed account, including how many of the fish you have caught, the biggest, and the heaviest. Completionists may seek to fill out the compendium in its entirety. There are also two fishing tournaments held every day of the week except for Monday. The tournaments are as follows;
Catch the most total fish
Catch the highest total weight
Catch the biggest fish
Catch the heaviest fish
Catch the smallest fish
Catch the most valuable fish
Each of these tournament types will be held twice a week, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The player who places first will be awarded 1,000 Valor and an exclusive item or cosmetic, depending on the tournament and day. Second place will receive 750v and third, 500v. All contestants will also be able to sell the fish they caught at the end of the tournament, netting them some extra Valor. You can consult the included calendar for more information.
